The current basic fare for taxis in Daejeon is W3,300. There is a 20% additional charge between midnight and 4:00AM.  Taxis can be flagged on the street or taken at special taxi stands around the city. There is also a call taxi service available in Daejeon; the fare of a call taxi is the same as that of regular taxis. The city of Daejeon recommends looking for the 'Its Daejeon' logo on the side of taxis to ensure the taxi flagged is a licensed vehicle.

Hanbit Call Center: 042-540-8282. This company provides a Safe Return service for women and students (mobile phone tracking while in the taxi - in Korean).
Yangban Call Center: 042-586-8000

Free Interpretation Service in Taxis
Taxis with  “Free Interpretation”stickers on the window offer 3-way simultaneous communication (passenger/driver/interpreter) in English, Japanese or Chinese.
