If you're staying in Seoul over the summer or are beginning your stay in Korea, you have a wide range of options available to you to learn about the city, have fun and/or keep cool. Following is information on a new Drone Park, Swimming Pools, Historical Seoul Walking Tour. Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) opened a new drone park at Gwangnaru Hangang Park on 25 June where you can fly your hobbyist drones without obtaining flight pre-approval as long as the drone weighs less than 2kg and is flown at less than 150cm. Drone flights are strictly regulated in Seoul and are banned from many places in the country, No-fly zones include areas around key public facilities, military installations and nuclear power plants.

The city has installed information signs in the 27,000 square meters space The park includes an information center to help guide hobbyists on the safe operation of UAVs as well as a special drone racing area and drone pilots' lounge. SMG is planning drone racing competitions. The drone park will be open to only 30 drones at a time and hobbyists have to book a space ahead of time, online or offline, on a first-come, first-served basis.

As of June, Foreign visitors can learn the makeup secrets of Hallyu (Korean wave) stars  The program features professional makeup artists presenting the makeup secrets of the hallyu stars, and tourists will be given the chance to try and apply them on their own. The program is offered every third Wednesday between 3-5PM until November 2016 with a new theme each month. The groups are limited to 20 persons. To participate in the free of charge sessions, offered near Ewah Womans Universtiy. English or Chinese interpretations is available. Online registration available here

The 6 swimming pools operated by SMG (Gwangnaru, Jamsil, Jamwon Hangang, Mangwon, Ttukseom and Yeouido parks) are open until Monday 22 August. Some of the pools have undergone upgreades to improve patron experiences. The Ttukseom pool now has solar shade canopies for those queuing to enter the pool and a flowing water pool for tube floating. A wave slide, water play and animal rides have been installed  at Jamsil pool to allow visitors to have a thrilling experience in the center of the city. In Yeouido swimming pool, visitors can enjoy aqua rings, where cool water pours down, water cannons, spiral tunnels, and other attractions among other fun features. In addition, there is now a “Viking” ride in the infants’ pool.  Hangang outdoor swimming pools are open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week. The admission fee is W5,000  for adults (19 years or above), W4,000 for youth (13 to 18 years), W3,000 for children (6 to 12 years), and free for children six years or under.

The 2-hour tours began on 18 June and will continue, four times a week, until the end of October. The tour offers four different courses where participants can encounter both the old and stylish modern architecture of an area filled with surprising stories, and that encompasses the entire area east and west of Seoul Station.
